On the noncommutative spin geometry of the standard Podleś sphere and index computations

چکیده
The purpose of the paper is twofold: First, known results of the noncommutative spin geometry of the standard Podleś sphere are extended by discussing Poincaré duality and orientability. In the discussion of orientability, Hochschild homology is replaced by a twisted version which avoids the dimension drop. The twisted Hochschild cycle representing an orientation is related to the volume form of the distinguished covariant differential calculus. Integration over the volume form defines a twisted cyclic 2-cocycle which computes the q-winding numbers of quantum line bundles. Second, a “twisted” Chern character from equivariant K0-theory to even twisted cyclic homology is introduced which gives rise to a ChernConnes pairing between equivariant K0-theory and twisted cyclic cohomology. The Chern-Connes pairing between the equivariant K0group of the standard Podleś sphere and the generators of twisted cyclic cohomology relative to the modular automorphism and its inverse are computed. This includes the pairings with the twisted cyclic 2-cocycle associated to the volume form, and the one corresponding to the “no-dimension drop” case. From explicit index computations, it follows that the pairings with these cocycles give the q-indices of the known equivariant 0-summable Dirac operator on the standard Podleś sphere.

متن کاملNotes on Noncommutative Geometry
Noncommutative geometry has roots in and is a synthesis of a number of diverse areas of mathematics, including: • Hilbert space and single operator theory; • Operator algebras (C*-algebras and von Neumann algebras); • Spin geometry – Dirac operators – index theory; • Algebraic topology – homological algebra. It has certainly also been inspired by quantum mechanics, and, besides feedback to the ...
متن کاملSinglet scalar dark matter in noncommutative space
In this paper, we examine the singlet scalar dark matter annihilation to becoming the Standard Model particles in the non-commutative space. In the recent decades, many candidates of dark matter have been offered, but our information about the nature of dark matter is still limited. There are such particle candidates as scalar matetr, fermion, boson, gauge boson, etc.; however, they have nei...
متن کاملNONCOMMUTATIVE RIEMANNIAN AND SPIN GEOMETRY OF THE STANDARD q-SPHERE
We study the quantum sphere Cq [S] as a quantum Riemannian manifold in the quantum frame bundle approach. We exhibit its 2-dimensional cotangent bundle as a direct sum Ω ⊕ Ω in a double complex. We find the natural metric, volume form, Hodge * operator, Laplace and Maxwell operators. We show that the q-monopole as spin connection induces a natural Levi-Civita type connection and find its Ricci ...
متن کاملThe Origin of Chiral Anomaly and the Noncommutative Geometry
We describe scalar and spinor fields on a noncommutative sphere starting from canonical realizations of the enveloping algebra A = U(u(2)). The gauge extension of a free spinor model, the Schwinger model on a noncommutative sphere, is defined and the model is quantized. The noncommutative version of the model contains only a finite number of dynamical modes and is non-perturbatively UV-regular....
